ABOUT the WEA

The WEA is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult learning – which means we provide a huge range of courses specifically designed for adults. We deliver over 9,500 part-time courses for over 70,000 students across England and Scotland.

With over 900 courses to choose from right here in the East Midlands you’re sure to find the course that’s right for you. From literature or creative writing to archaeology, geology or local history – and that’s just a fraction of what’s in store!

Our courses are held throughout the East Midlands in villages and suburbs as well as in towns and cities.

Here in Holbrook, we try to put on 2 courses per year; each of around 9 sessions.  History and architecture are usually popular subjects, although we are happy to put on other topics as well.  However, we need a minimum of 12 people to make the course viable.  In addition, several single session events are arranged by the local committee throughout the year and these might include illustrated talks and guided walks.  All our talks and courses are held in the school rooms at Holbrook Moor Methodist Church.
